Feature on the Pemberton Residence
2020
I documented the Pemberton Residence in Austin, TX for Dwell Magazine, focusing on how architecture actually holds a family’s daily rhythms, not just how it looks. Designed by Alterstudio Architecture and inspired by post-war Eichler homes, the space balances restraint, warmth, and accessibility. I approached the shoot as a lived narrative, capturing both the structure and the quiet, in-between moments of the family moving through it.
The work was published as a four-page spread in Dwell’s print issue and featured online, where the story resonated for its human perspective on modern design. The images helped position the home not as an abstract ideal, but as something grounded, attainable, and fully inhabited.
